Things To Do in Quinte This Fall Season

Share This Post:

As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, the Quinte and surrounding regions come alive with a vibrant array of activities and events that celebrate the beauty of autumn. Let’s take a closer look at 5 Things To Do in Quinte This Fall 2024 Season:

Local Markets:

Downtown Belleville Farmers Market

This market is located on Historic Market Square behind Belleville’s City Hall. Accessible from both Front St. and Pinnacle St. within walking distance from Belleville’s Downtown Core. It operates year round – rain or shine – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8am to 5pm. Chefs, locals, and visitors alike flock to the market to take home some of the region’s bounty – think fresh apples, pumpkins, and fall baked goodies topped with generous helpings of cinnamon. For more information, check out the Belleville Farmers Market Website.

Front Street Farmers’ Market

The Front Street Farmers’ Market is beautifully nestled along the Trent Severn Waterway at 67 Front St., in downtown Trenton. Visitors can find a wide variety of artisanal and produce vendors with products ranging from fruits, veggies, crafts to baked goods and more. Market hours are 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. every Saturday from Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend. For more information, check out the Quinte West Tourism Website.

Homestead Farmers’ Market

A regional Sunday market with farmers, food and beverage producers, makers, and artisans. This eclectic market serves the BoQ areas and supports small businesses. Stop by and connect with local vendors, pick up something fresh, and discover something new and unique. For more information, check out the Bay of Quinte Tourism Website.

Side Hustle Market

If local, handmade, crafted and vintage items are your jam, then head to Downtown Belleville’s waterfront on the Bay of Quinte for the Fall Side Hustle Market! The 2024 season will run from May 31 through September 15th. For more information, check out the Side Hustle Market Facebook Page or the Bay of Quinte Tourism Website.

Apple Orchards:

Campbell’s Orchard & Country Market

Nestled in Prince Edward County on the Bay of Quinte, Campbell’s is not just an orchard; it’s also a farm market, bakery, and vineyard. The market is open 7 DAYS A WEEK, offering a wide range of fresh produce, including apples like: Macintosh, Red Delicious, Cortland, Royal Gala, Empire, Honey Crisp, and Snow Sweet. You can also pick your own apples (PYO) from 10am-4pm daily. Don’t forget to check out their delicious sweet treats, savoury delights, frozen entrees, and, of course, apple crisps. For more information, check out The Campbell’s Orchards Website.

Grills Orchards

Open year-round, Grills Orchards Country Market store, located on Grills Rd, just off Highway 401 between Belleville and Trenton Ontario, is a fantastic place to stock up on locally grown, in-season fruits and vegetables, condiments, cheese, frozen meats, and preserves. They are known for having the area’s best selection of apples, homemade pies, and baked goods, fresh apple cider, ice cream, and more. Grills Orchards also offers fun activities for kids like a 10-acre corn maze and apple picking, making it a great family destination. For more information, check out The Grills Orchards Website.

Local Trails:

Batawa Trails

What’s popular as a ski hill in the winter months transforms into a perfect place to explore during autumn! Batawa’s 22-km of non-motorized trails make visitors fall in love with fall. Spend quality time outdoors running, hiking, or biking in the Bay of Quinte region, surrounded by beautiful forests. Download a trail map, lace-up your hiking boots, and discover why it’s dubbed the “small hill with a big heart.” For more information, visit the Batawa Ski Hill Website.

O’Hara Mill Conservation Area and Pioneer Homestead

O’Hara Mill Conservation Area and Pioneer Homestead at 638 Mill Road, Madoc ON will transport visitors back in time to the mid-1800s where they can see lovingly preserved pioneer-era buildings like a blacksmith shop, carriage house, and one-room schoolhouse, as well as the original O’Hara family home, which is now a museum. This area is cared for by the Friends of O’Hara Mill Volunteer Association and it is home to many trails adorned with beautiful changing leaves during the autumn season. For more information visit the O’Hara Mill Conservation Area and Pioneer Homestead Website.

Sager Conservation Area

Pack your camera, binoculars, and get ready to climb some stairs – you’ll be rewarded, we promise! If you’re looking for a perfect fall color panorama, make a point of visiting Sager Conservation Area this season. Located near Quinte West, a short, steep hike brings visitors to a lookout tower and reveals amazing aerial views of the changing treetops and countryside stretching into the Trent Valley.
